Sign Up FreeDaytona's Road Course merges high-speed banking with a technical infield. Precision through the Bus Stop and Horseshoe is paramount for a competitive lap time.
Setup Focus
- Stiff suspension to handle the high-speed banked turns and quick direction changes.
- Aerodynamics tuned for a balance between high downforce for the infield sections and lower drag for the straights.
- Brake bias adjusted slightly rearward to help with turn-in on the tighter corners, but not so much to induce snap oversteer.
Corner Analysis
Bus Stop Chicane
Complex left-right chicane
Bus Stop Chicane
VIDEO COMING SOON
Technique
Brake firmly on entry into the left-hander, aiming for a late apex to carry speed through the right-hander. Be precise with steering to avoid clipping the curbs, which can unsettle the car.
Apex Strategy
Late apex on the first left-hander, then a mid-apex on the second right-hander.
The Triangle
Fast, sweeping right-hander leading into a tight left-hander
The Triangle

Technique
Maintain a smooth throttle through the sweeping right-hander, positioning the car to get the best line into the tight left. Brake progressively into the left, looking for a late apex to maximize exit speed onto the back straight.
Apex Strategy
Mid-apex on the right, late apex on the left.
The Horseshoe
Series of tight, technical turns
The Horseshoe
VIDEO COMING SOON
Technique
This section requires precision. Brake early and decisively into the first left, then manage throttle carefully through the right-left sequence. Focus on maintaining momentum and avoiding lock-ups.
Apex Strategy
Early to mid-apex on the first left, then adjust for the subsequent turns.

Critical Risks
Common mistakes at this circuit
- ⚠ Aggressive curb usage in the Bus Stop chicane can lead to car instability and spins.
- ⚠ Braking too late into the tight left-hander after the Triangle can result in understeer or running wide.
- ⚠ Maintaining optimal tire temperature and wear is crucial due to the varied corner speeds and long straights.
