Technique

Brake firmly on entry, aiming for the apex of the first left-hander. Use the kerb on the exit of the right-hander to carry speed, but be mindful of the wall. A late apex on the second part can help straighten for the following straight.

This is a high-speed, flowing sequence. Maintain a smooth steering input and try to carry as much momentum as possible. Braking should be minimal, focusing on throttle control to maintain balance. The key is to find the optimal line through all three curves to maximize exit speed.

Critical Risks

Common mistakes at this circuit

  • High speeds on the Mulsanne Straight and other straights can lead to loss of control if braking points are misjudged.
  • The walls and barriers are very close on many sections, especially after the chicanes and around the tight corners, offering little room for error.
  • Night racing significantly reduces visibility, making braking points and corner entries much harder to judge, increasing the risk of accidents.
